Sudhir Tonse

Sudhir Tonse is a Director of Engineering at Splunk, part of Cisco, where he leads Core Platform & Research for AI Observability and Resilience. His work focuses on helping organizations understand and trust AI systems in production, with an emphasis on the observability, resilience, and security foundations needed to identify risks and build dependable AI applications.

Sudhir has more than two decades of experience building engineering teams and platforms across AI/ML, data, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale software. Before joining Splunk, he was Vice President of Engineering at Galileo, an AI startup focused on evaluating and observing generative AI systems that was later acquired by Splunk. At DoorDash, he built and led the Data and AI/ML Platform organization, growing it to more than 100 people and establishing a platform roadmap supporting logistics, recommendations, and other use cases. At Uber, he led engineering in the Marketplace and Data + AI domains during a period of rapid growth. At Netflix, he contributed to the transitions from DVD to streaming and from on-premises systems to the cloud.

Sudhir enjoys sharing lessons from building AI platforms through talks and writing, and mentoring engineering leaders.
