Mike Krieger co-founded Instagram and now leads Anthropic Labs (with Ben Mann), the team announced January 2026 to incubate experimental products at the frontier of Claude's capabilities — Claude Code, MCP, Cowork, Skills, and Claude in Chrome. That makes him unusually well positioned to speak to the gap between frontier model capabilities and real-world product usability. As he put it, these products are 'really hard to use effectively for most people approaching it for the first time,' and 'the best products are the ones that are built very close to the model.'
